It is a small to medium-sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial, semi-epiphyte with a short stem carrying numerous, large, and very unequally bilobed-obtuse wide leaves. The flowers, which are white but turn yellowish with age, are about 6 cm across and 5 cm tall and have sepals and petals that recurve, especially at their tips.
