Arundina Graminifolia or the Bamboo Orchid, is a highly popular and easy-to-grow orchid species that gets its common name from its tall, reed-like stems and narrow, grass-like leaves which closely resemble those of a bamboo plant. This terrestrial orchid is native to a wide range of tropical and subtropical Asia and has naturalized in many other regions. It is a prolific bloomer, producing successions of showy, Cattleya-like flowers at the tips of its stems throughout the year. The flowers are typically a delicate pink to purple color with a distinctive purple or rosy-lilac lip and are often fragrant, adding a sweet scent to the garden or collection.
