Phalaenopsis Tetraspis 'Red' is a mesmerizing and highly variable color form of the famous Southeast Asian species. Unlike the standard tetraspis, which is known for its random "blotches" of color, the 'Red' selection has been bred for maximum saturation. The flowers are medium-sized, star-shaped, and possess a heavy, waxy substance that gives them a brilliant shine. While some flowers on the same spike may show white segments (a quirk of the species' genetics), the best examples of this cultivar display solid, vibrant blood-red to deep scarlet petals and sepals, offset by a delicate, hairy white lip. It is a prolific bloomer, often producing flowers on old spikes for several seasons.
