A Jewel Orchid grown for its leaves: Anoectochilus Roxburghii has velvety dark leaves netted with gold veins, and lives on damp humus beside forest streams from the Himalayas to Sumatra at 300 to 1,800 m. In autumn it raises a short spike of small flowers; the leaves are the reason to grow it.
You receive a blooming-size plant in a 7 cm pot of sphagnum moss, sent without flowers, spikes or buds. Best for growers who can keep a small terrestrial orchid evenly damp and shaded, such as in a terrarium. Think twice if it would sit in a bright, dry room.
