This impressive plant forms large clumps of thick pseudobulbs topped with leathery green leaves, often growing naturally on rocks or tree trunks in bright, open habitats. During the flowering season, usually from late winter to early spring, it produces long, arching inflorescences that carry dozens of small, star-shaped flowers. The blooms range in color from creamy white to pale yellow and are often accompanied by a strong, sweet fragrance that becomes more noticeable during warm daytime hours. Because of its vigorous growth habit, mature plants can produce spectacular floral displays with hundreds of flowers at once.
