Phalaenopsis Schillmann, also sold as Phalaenopsis Bronze Maiden, is a classic primary hybrid of the Philippine species Phalaenopsis schilleriana and Phalaenopsis mannii, a species native to north-east India and the Himalaya. The cross was first registered as Schillmann in 1930, and again as Bronze Maiden in 1964. The clone 'Rio' carries narrow, star-shaped flowers in rose-pink to magenta with a small, darker lip; as in most primary hybrids, the colour can lean warmer, towards bronze.
You receive a blooming-size plant in a 7 cm pot of sphagnum moss, sent without flowers, spikes or buds. Best for collectors of species-based Phalaenopsis with history.
