It gets its common name "Tiger Orchid" from its striking flowers, which are typically pale greenish-yellow with bold, maroon-brown spots and can be borne on towering inflorescences that reach up to three meters tall. The spectacular flowering occurs infrequently, typically only once every two to five years, but a single plant can produce thousands of flowers that last for a long period, making it a truly breathtaking botanical spectacle.
