Cattleya Dowiana is also called Dow's Cattleya. It is a medium-sized, cool to warm growing epiphytic orchid with clavate, tall pseudobulbs with long and broad leaves. It blooms in the late summer and fall on terminal, fragrant, very showy flowers. The flowers are yellow, sometimes with a small share of carmine patches on the petals. Sepals are long-lanceolate and petals are rhomboid or ovate, wavy at the edge. The lip is triple, folded in the form of a chicken, inside which is covered by a column along the edge. It is divided into two parts, wavy, with denticles densely covered with golden veins, sometimes forming a kind of large spot.
