Dendrobium Amethystoglossum is a spectacular deciduous species native to the island of Luzon in the Philippines. It is famous for its dramatic, pendulous flower spikes that emerge from the upper nodes of elongated, cane-like pseudobulbs. Each spike carries a dense cluster of crystalline white flowers, uniquely accented by a vivid amethyst-purple splash on the lip. Because it naturally grows on limestone cliffs at higher elevations, it has a distinct growth cycle that includes a cooler, drier rest period to encourage its breathtaking winter or early spring blooms.
