Habenaria Xanthocheila is a terrestrial orchid species closely related to the well-known Habenaria rhodocheila. This species is native to Southeast Asia and is prized for its vibrant yellow flowers. The plant grows from a small tuber, and during the growing season, it produces bright green, lance-shaped leaves. Its stunning inflorescence features numerous small, intricate flowers with sepals and petals that are a brilliant yellow color, including the prominent, three-lobed lip. Like other Habenaria species, it requires a period of dormancy after the leaves have died back.
