Native to Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand, Vietnam, and surrounding regions, this epiphytic orchid grows with thick aerial roots and broad, leathery leaves arranged in a fan-like form. The plant produces long, pendulous inflorescences that carry many small, waxy flowers tightly packed together, creating a dense, fox-tail-like cluster. The blooms are usually creamy white to pale pink and are beautifully covered with dark purple, magenta, or red spots, giving them a very decorative appearance. The lip is small but vividly colored, adding contrast to the spotted petals and sepals. One of the most attractive features of this orchid is its strong, sweet fragrance, especially noticeable during the daytime. Flowering typically occurs in winter.
