Vandopsis Lissochiloides is a large and impressive monopodial orchid species native to Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, and parts of Indonesia. This vigorous epiphytic plant produces long, thick aerial roots and broad, leathery leaves arranged along a sturdy stem, giving it a strong, vanda-like appearance. Mature plants produce long, arching inflorescences bearing numerous waxy, star-shaped flowers. The blooms are typically creamy yellow to greenish with brown or reddish spots and markings, creating a beautifully patterned display. The flowers are also known for their pleasant fragrance, which becomes more noticeable during warm daytime hours. Flowering usually occurs in the warmer months and mature plants can produce very impressive clusters of blooms. Vandopsis Lissochiloides thrives in warm, humid conditions with bright light, strong air movement, and frequent watering during active growth. Because of its large size and vigorous growth, it is often grown in hanging baskets or mounted in tropical orchid collections.
